Editorial Role

Arjun Nair is the Coastal Research Editor at Zeach. He reviews every beach page before publication, maintains our data verification standards, and works with regional authors across Europe, Asia, and Africa to ensure accuracy and depth in all content.

Arjun does not write individual beach pages — that responsibility belongs to the regional authors who have first-hand knowledge of each coastline. His role is editorial oversight: verifying facts against primary data sources, checking that water quality classifications match EEA records, confirming that schema markup is correct, and ensuring that every page meets Zeach's E-E-A-T standards.

Background

Arjun has spent over a decade working in coastal research and environmental journalism. Based in Chennai, he has extensive knowledge of the Indian subcontinent's coastlines — from Kerala in the south to the Andaman Islands in the east — as well as the broader Indian Ocean region including Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Mauritius.

His research background includes field work on bathing water quality assessment, coastal erosion monitoring, and the application of the EU Bathing Water Directive in non-EU jurisdictions. This technical foundation informs the data standards applied across all Zeach content.

Editorial standards

All claims on Zeach pages are verified against one of the following primary sources: FEE (certification status), EEA or national equivalent (water quality), national meteorological services (climate data), OpenStreetMap/Wikidata (geographic and facility data), or national and regional tourism authority publications (access and transport).

Where data is unavailable or uncertain, this is explicitly stated on the relevant page rather than omitted or approximated. Arjun applies this principle across all content he reviews.
