What is Heerenlaak?

This is a private marina for pleasure boats with no natural areas nearby. The facility has a pump-out station for bilge and toilet waste, waste containers for batteries, oil, glass, paper, organic material, and household and green waste. Sanitary facilities include 6 toilets, 4 taps, and 6 showers. Life-saving and fire-fighting equipment (buoys and rescue boats) is available, along with a telephone, parking, reception, and restaurant. The marina is accessible to people with disabilities, with accessible facilities and toilets. Electricity and water connections are available at the berths, and an information board and map of the marina are posted.

The marina runs several environmental programs. Staff hold information sessions on waste reduction and improving the waste management area. In collaboration with a technical school, the marina organizes waste collection campaigns at the facility. Educational campaigns encourage boat owners to use the pump-out station for bilge and toilet water and discourage the use of drinking water for boat cleaning.
